How to use Steganography Extractor

  1. 1Choose the Image tab to reveal data from a PNG, or the Text tab to reveal zero-width text.
  2. 2For an image: pick the PNG — the tool auto-detects the LSB depth. For text: paste the text that may carry hidden characters.
  3. 3Enter the password if the payload was hidden with one.
  4. 4Click Reveal — the hidden message or file is recovered and shown or downloaded.
  5. 5If it says no payload was found, the carrier was likely re-encoded (JPEG/social) or made with a different tool.

Steganography Extractor FAQ

What can this extractor reveal?
Two formats made by HiddenInk: an LSB payload hidden in a PNG (from Hide Text in Image or Hide File in Image), and a zero-width payload hidden in text (from Text Steganography). It auto-detects the LSB depth and tells you when no payload is present.
The extractor says 'no payload found' — why?
Either the input has nothing hidden, it was hidden with a different tool/format, or — most commonly for images — the carrier was re-encoded as JPEG or processed by social media, which destroys LSB data. For text, the channel may have stripped the zero-width characters.
Do I need the password to extract?
Only if the payload was hidden with a password. The tool tells you when a password is required; a wrong password is rejected cleanly. Payloads hidden without a password reveal immediately.
